Mercury Retroshade: What It Is & Why Its More Than Mercury Retrograde

May 2024 · 3 minute read

If you take control of managing circumstances during the first retroshade period, you will be better equipped for when Mercury retrograde commences. You will still deal with the same drama—but you can know what’s on the horizon and plan ahead accordingly. For example, if you’re waiting to hear back about something of importance, you can expect this situation to not be fully completed until after the post-retroshade (so, not until two weeks after Mercury retrograde ends). There could be a lot of back and forth in the interim and changes made. So the best thing to do is to avoid fully committing, stay present, and just go with the flow during this time.

I’m a firm believer in journaling all of your sentiments and feelings, which is why I suggest keeping a notation about the events that happen two weeks before and after the retrograde. Not only will you begin to understand more about the situation that begins to unmask itself during the actual retrograde, but you will begin to see patterns with circumstances and people in your life. Also, keep tabs on who reappears in your life during these times. If an ex or an old friend resurfaces out of the blue, then they have some unfinished business to discuss with you during the retrograde and/or are wanting to test the waters to see what your vibe is like. The retroshade can help suss out situations and relationships without the extra added heaviness, confusion, and ambiguity of the retrograde.

When it comes to work, Mercury retroshade could actually be a really wonderful time to start discussions about a raise or promotion with your boss. Not every retrograde is going to yield madness and insanity in our lives. Sometimes it’s a time to reevaluate, reassess, and reconsider matters or situations that have been put on the back burner—especially when it comes to your career. The most important thing I can recommend doing is to be fearless during the retroshade zones and to keep track of what permeates your life during the retrograde periods. It may help you navigate your life better and move more freely.
